JUNON partners are working together, both internally and with businesses and regional stakeholders, to develop a university education and training offer for 2024–2029 that meets socio-economic needs.

Activities under this strand focus on designing and establishing new academic programmes, with curricula developed in close consultation with stakeholders from sectors related to the potential area of specialisation "Environmental Engineering and Metrology for Resource-Intensive Activities". Priority will be given to programmes involving at least two higher education institutions based in the region.

Efforts are also underway to strengthen the international dimension of these programmes through the ATHENA European University. Since 2023, the University of Orléans and its European partners have offered a Blended Intensive Programme (BIP) in "Digital Environmental Geosciences", bringing together around 30 students each year, including approximately 20 international participants.

Our aim is to increase the visibility of the JUNON consortium at European level and attract talented students to our campuses.

One of the key achievements is the creation of the GEODATA master's programme, focusing on environmental data. The programme is led by the Observatory of Sciences of the Universe in Centre-Val de Loire (OSUC) at the University of Orléans, in coordination with BRGM Campus.

JUNON has played a particularly important role in strengthening links between academia and industry from the earliest stages of GEODATA's development. These collaborations have focused on identifying business needs and defining how companies can contribute to the programme through internships, projects and work-study opportunities.

The aim is to provide career-oriented education and training that equips graduates with practical skills and supports their successful transition into employment.
