For the past five years, with the support of the Centre-Val de Loire Region, the JUNON program has been developing a research hub—unique in France—at the intersection of the environment and digital technology.

Building on the legacy of the PIVOTS program and its seven observation platforms, JUNON has established a comprehensive value chain—spanning everything from environmental sensors to digital twins of landscapes—to observe, understand, and predict changes in our terrestrial environments. Directly serving the region, JUNON provides public decision-makers and economic stakeholders with robust decision-support tools—covering water resource monitoring, pollution forecasting, risk management, and sustainable planning—as well as a unique digital environment for local co-development.

This ambitious initiative relies on an exceptionally diverse consortium bringing together research organizations, universities, private companies, competitiveness clusters, and innovation hubs—an unprecedented alliance of Earth sciences, artificial intelligence, and the business world. With a global outlook, the program has also forged active collaborations across Europe, China, and the United States.

On December 2 and 3, 2026, at the Hôtel Dupanloup in Orléans, JUNON will open its doors for an event that serves as both a review of achievements and a springboard for the future: showcasing results, highlighting the contributors, and co-creating the projects of tomorrow.
